Opening Announcement

A pavilion and amphitheater made possible by a $2 million donation from the Hoblitzelle Foundation in honor of Mr. Will Moore, the namesake for Moore Park, and his contributions to Dallas’ African American community and culture. The donation came to the City of Dallas through The Trinity Trust.

A new bridge across Cedar Creek connects the 75 year old Moore Park to the Santa Fe Trestle Trail. The area features parking, athletic fields, mature tree groves, and views to the creek.

The beautiful plaza-style entryway features a striking pavilion with gravity defying 25 foot overlook and an elevated walkway to the terraced grove of red oak trees.

The amphitheater is a perfect outdoor venue for intimate daytime musical performances, dance events, school plays, student field trips, or the readings of novelists and poets.

Past an impressive grove of pecan trees, hikers and bicycle riders can take the short link to the .86 mile Santa Fe Trestle Trail.
